- Mac App Store Keeps Asking For Password Update Windows 10
Hi viking bear,
Thanks for your question. I understand you have been unable to update Twitter on your iMac. Were you able to update other apps in your Purchased list? Do you and your wife share the same Twitter handle? It sounds like the Twitter app is 'registered' under your wife's Apple ID in the iTunes Store.
Does your wife have a separate user account on your iMac, or does she have an iPhone or iPad that she can access her iTunes Store purchases and see if she can update the Twitter app?
Alternatively, if the app is listed under your purchases, you can delete it and then download your past purchases. Here are a few resources with more information:
See your purchase history in the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC
While you are in the iTunes application on your iMac, I would also suggest checking your iTunes Store account billing information, just to make sure everything is up to date with your Family Sharing account. (You may need to re-enter your credit card's security code and expiration date.)
Change or remove your Apple ID payment information
macOS Sierra: Install, update, and uninstall apps
Delete music, movies, apps, and other content from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Download your past purchases
viking bear, after confirming who's Apple ID the Twitter app was initially downloaded under, checking the iTunes Store account billing info, and possibly deleting and downloading the app again, please reply back to this thread with any updates that you can regarding your issue.
Enjoy the rest of your evening.
